Curb parking on Regent Street is available. However, depending on the season, leaf collection or winter parking bans may be in effect.

Driving Directions

From Western Massachusetts

  • Take the Massachusetts Turnpike (Interstate 90) to Exit 90 at Auburn and proceed on Interstate 290 East to Worcester.
  • Get off at Exit 21 (Rt. 9).
    Turn left at the light at the end of the exit onto Belmont Street (Route 9 West)
  • Proceed straight through Lincoln Square, following signs for Route 9 West.
    You are now on Highland St.
  • Proceed about 900 ft. Take the first right after The Worcester Auditorium onto Harvard St. (which turns into Tuckerman St.)
  • Continue to the end of Tuckerman St.
    Take a left onto Salisbury
  • Follow Salisbury Street about one-half mile to the intersection of Park Avenue (Route 12).
    AAS is on your left immediately after the intersection.
    Curb parking on Regent Street is available.

From Boston

  • Take the Massachusetts Turnpike (Interstate 90) to Interstate 495 North (Exit 106 from the Turnpike).
  • Take I-495 North to I-290.
  • Follow 290 West to Worcester, getting off at Exit 21.
  • At the exit, turn right at the traffic light, then go a very short block and take a right at the next light (Salisbury Street).
  • Go straight through the intersection at the next light, remaining on Salisbury Street.
  • Follow Salisbury Street about one-half mile to the intersection of Park Avenue (Route 12).
    AAS is on your left immediately after the intersection.
    Curb parking on Regent Street is available.
    The trip from Boston will take approximately 70 minutes.

From Providence

  • Take Interstate 95 North to Route 146 North.
  • Take I-290 East
  • Get off at Exit 17 (Rt. 9).
    Turn left at the light at the end of the exit onto Belmont Street (Route 9 West)
  • Proceed straight through Lincoln Square, following signs for Route 9 West.
    You are now on Highland St.

  • Turn right onto Pleasant Street (Rt. 122) (.96 miles)
  • Turn right onto Chandler Street (still Rt. 122) (2.16 miles)
  • Turn left onto Park Ave. (Rt. 9; also is Rt. 12) (aprox. 1.25 miles)
  • Turn left onto Salisbury St. The American Antiquarian Society is at this intersection.

Air travel

  • There is limited commercial air service to Worcester Municipal Airport.
  • To reach Worcester, air travelers may wish to consider flying via either Boston's Logan International Airport or Providence's T.F. Green Airport, neither of which is more than 70 minutes from AAS in normal traffic. More distant airports include those of Hartford, CT, and Manchester, NH.
